5 Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 27

Hanukkah celebration at the Commons, Kids Club at Sagebrush and free Christmas tree pick-up.

  1. Celebrate the final night of Hanukkah at the Commons tonight with a menorah lighting event capped off with a fireworks show. The free event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is hosted by the Calabasas Shul.
  2. This week's installment of Kids Club at the features a performance of The Holiday Princess Who Lost Her Smile. The play includes magic and holiday songs. The free event begins at 4:30 p.m. A kids-free-eat special is also available all night long.
  3. The city of Calabasas is offering a free daily Christmas tree pick-up service for two weeks following the holiday. Trees must be cut into three-foot pieces and placed inside a green recycling bin. Wreaths can also be recycled. Click here for more instructions.
