I have been caring for children since the age of 13. I obtained my Master's degree in Education from The Ohio State University in 1997, and worked as a Special-Education school teacher for several years. I have one child that is 3 years old. Children are my life. I enjoy watching them learn and grow. It's extremely rewarding to watch children learn and flourish. The children who attend my daycare are fluent in American Sign language, which I began teaching them since the age of 4 months. I started my own family daycare a year ago, and it's the best career choice I could have made. On a daily basis, we read books, have outdoor time, take nature walks, and have craft-time. The children are eating nutritious and healthy meals and snacks, and are socialized with other children their age throughout their day. I'm also a member of the Ventura Food Program, which means while in my care your children will be fed nutritious and healthy meals and snacks at no additional cost to you. I knew at a very young age, that I always wanted to care for children. My degree in education allows me to be able to assist and teach the children in a small environment where they're receiving undivided and special attention, which studies indicate improves a child's aptitude for learning. I'm extremely flexible regarding my schedule and I'm open to part-time, drop-in or full-time care. If you are looking for a loving and qualified caregiver, in a safe, clean, and nurturing environment, please feel free to contact me.
