The owners of a new local health club say they want to not only get their clientele in shape, but also give them a better understanding of what it means to be fit.
Thnk Fitness opens for business on Sept. 13 at 26655 Agoura Road and will feature a variety of instructor-led classes accompanied by a physical therapy expert and a dietician, said Matt Fuscaldo, one of the owners.
"It's time to think a little more about what you're doing with your fitness and wellness, not just go and work out really hard or take this extreme diet, it's time to get smart about what you're doing," he said.
Fuscaldo, a private trainer and conditioning specialist in Calabasas, says many people start lifting heavy weights and doing push ups but don't really understand why.
Classes at Thnk Fitness will feature a combination of yoga,high-intensity interval training and getting people to use their bodies to avoid unnecessary pain, he said.
"It's mostly teaching people how to use their own bodies correctly and teaching people how to move better," Fuscaldo said.
Fuscaldo will run Thnk Fitness with his wife, Melissa Golde, a doctor of physical therapy, and Samuel Camburn, a conditioning specialist.
The health club is offering lunchtime workouts for all employees in the area beginning Aug. 15 and grand opening is on Sept. 13.
