Gasoline Prices Continue to Rise

Southland gasoline prices have risen for the fifth consecutive day.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the fifth consecutive day, increasing 1.2 cents to $4.386.

The increases stem from record low gasoline inventories and continued refinery issues that "may resolve itself in the next week," according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.

The average price is 15.4 cents more than one week ago, 11.4 cents higher than one month ago and 14 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
