Gas Prices Drop for 29th Consecutive Day

Lower demand for gas keeps pushing prices down.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell today for the 29th consecutive day, dropping nine-tenths of a cent to settle at $3.618, its lowest level since Feb. 24.

The average price is 5.5 cents less than one week ago and 24.8 cents lower than a month ago but 38.1 cents more than at this time last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped 24.8 cents over the past 29 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Wednesday.

The cheapeast price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Calabasas as of Friday is $3.65, according to Gas Buddy.

The decreasing prices are the result of lower demand, which is typical
for the fall, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern
California.
