'Little Red Wagon' Opens to Sell-Out Crowd

The philanthropic film produced by former Agoura resident Michael Guillen packs the Regency's screening room Friday night.

"Little Red Wagon," a movie about a little boy who takes it upon himself to help homeless children, brought in sell-out crowds at the Agoura Hills Stadim 8 Theatres Friday night for its holiday premiere.

In attendance were the film's producer, Michael Guillen, a former Agoura Hills resident, and the young man on whom the story was based, 15-year-old Zach Bonner.

Bonner, who lives in Florida, has been touring the country to help promote the independent film-with-a-message, which is currently in limited release.

"My personal goal is to tell people that it doesn't matter how young or old you are; it doesn't matter how much money you have; you just have to have the desire to do something ... and you can change the world," he said.

Bonner spent some of his time in the Agoura Hills/Calabasas area speaking with kids at Lindero Canyon Middle School and Viewpoint School.

He hopes the film will eventually go to wider release.

"We decided to [allow the filmmakers] to do this because we felt that a Hollywood movie would reach out to a lot of people, and so far, it's proven to be true," he said.

At this time Agoura Hills is the only Los Angeles-area city where the film is being shown. According to the clerk at the ticket window, Friday's show was sold out.

What a nice movie. Took three eleven year olds and an eight year old and we all really liked it. The kids have been following Zach for several years through their schools. So many teachable moments in this movie ,Zach is an amazing role model and this movie is a must see for children. The audience applauded at the end. There were young children ,older kids and adults and for 2 hours everyone was captivated by this inspiring movie, Hope this gets out their to the mass market.
