Santa Monica Mtns Visitor Center Opening

The National Park Service, CA State Parks, Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and MRCA will open a new interagency visitor center at King Gillette Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains on Saturday, June 9.

The public is invited to tour the facilities and take part in a variety of ranger-led activities suitable for all ages.  Festivities include live music and food trucks.

One of the most stunning locales in the Santa Monica Mountains, 588-acre King Gillette Ranch offers a rare, unspoiled view of California's rich archaeological cultural and historic resources. The visitor center is the first "net zero" visitor center in the National Park Service and is LEED certified, producing all of its energy needs through a 95 kilowatt photovoltaic solar energy system.
