1) If you are over the age of 60, you can adopt a senior cat or dog (over the age of 6) from the Agoura or any other County Animal Care Center for half off the total fees. This includes adoption, spay or neuter, vaccinations, and microchip.

2) If you aren’t a senior, you can still adopt a senior animal (any animal over the age of 6), and you will receive half off of the adoption fee. Spay, neuter, vaccinations and microchip fees will be at the standard cost.

There are many benefits of owning a senior animal:

·      Lower blood pressure

·      Lessen depression and make it easier to make friends

·      Offer affection and unconditional love

·      Ease the feelings of loss for a loved one and help fight loneliness.

Senior pets are great companions for senior citizens. When you adopt a senior pet, you have someone who moves at your pace and who can enhance your life during your golden years.

The Agoura Shelter is at 29525 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills. Occasionally pets have already been adopted. To check availability, call 818-991-0071 or visithttp://animalcare.lacounty.gov
