Get Out for Some Weekend Fun: Oct. 5-7

Here are some events and activities taking place in and around the neighborhood this weekend.

We know you don't always stay in the neighborhood for the weekend, so here are some  events and activities taking place Saturday and Sunday in town and nearby.

Circus Vargas: The traveling circus has set up at the Westfield Topanga Mall in Woodland Hills and will have shows daily through Oct. 15. This year's theme is Circus With a Touch of Broadway. Show times and ticket prices vary, so check the Circus Vargas website. The circus is at 6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Woodland Hills.

Fall Harvest Festival: This 15th annual event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Oct. 31 and features a corn maze, animal center, hay pyramids, a pumpkin patch and more. Weekend admission also includes tractor-drawn wagon rides, live bands and animal shows. As well, each weekend has a theme. This weekend is the Folk Festival, which will feature artists and musicians from throughout Ventura and Los Angeles counties. Organizers even encourage festival goers to bring their own instruments and play along. Admission is $12 per person on the weekends and $3 per person week days. The festival takes place at Underwood Family Farms, 3370 Sunset Valley Road, Moorpark.

Halloween Harvest Festival: The eighth annual Halloween Harvest Festival gets started Friday at the Pierce College Farm Center. Activities include hay rides, a corn maze, rock climbing, pony rides, an animal farm, genstone mining and arts and crafts. The festival is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 31 at 20800 Victory Blvd., Woodland Hills. Admission is $5, though additional pricing options that include activity booklets are available. See the festival's website for pricing details.

Reyes Adobe Days: This annual three-day event features art, music, cuisine and shopping. On Saturday night, there will be a haunted tour of the Adobe, and on Sunday, there will be 10K and 10-mile runs. Plus, the city of Agoura Hills is celebrating its 30th anniversary so, starting at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, there will be free cupcakes for everyone! See event times on the Reyes Adobe Days website. Calabasas Street Fair: A new monthly street fair is beginning Sunday in Calabasas. The open-air market will feature vendors selling crafts, jewelry, clothing and more. There will be gourmet food trucks and barbecue stands. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at The Summit center, 26767 Agoura Road, Calabasas.
