Los Robles Hospital Partners with USC's Renowned Robotic Urologic Institute

    THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Continuing to attract only top notch physicians and medical programs to the Greater Conejo Valley, Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center welcomes the USC Institute of Urology to our campus.

    As a result of this collaboration, Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center and the USC Institute of Urology combines Los Robles’ solid healthcare reputation in the community with USC’s strong reputation in academic medicine.

    “When it came to robotic urologic surgery, we didn’t have to look far. The USC Institute of Urology already has a working relationship with our local urologists. The partnership was a natural fit and we see it as an opportunity for some of the more complex cases to be treated locally.”

    “This collaboration will enable high-quality care in robotic urologic surgery be delivered locally in the community and represents a future trend in collaboration between academic medical centers and high-quality community hospitals,” said Mihir Desai, MD, who will represent the USC Urologic Program at Los Robles Hospital. Dr. Desai is the Director of Robotic Urologic Surgery at the USC Institute of Urology which has one of the most advanced robotics’ programs in the country. Dr. Desai added, “At the USC Institute of Urology we have pioneered the use of robotic and minimally invasive surgery for treating prostate, kidney and bladder cancer and feel confident of using our expertise to benefit patients in and around Thousand Oaks in close partnership with the excellent local urologic community.”

    Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center is a licensed 395-bed acute care facility dedicated to serving the residents of Ventura County, the Greater Conejo Valley and its surrounding communities.
