Disappointed in my neighbors

I live one block North of Bigler Street between Abbyville and Dunman and am able to see out onto Bigler Street from my Bedroom and Living room windows.  Last Night at approx. 12:30am, there were approx 30 teenagers who woke my family up and downstairs neighbors up with what sounded like a riot.  Looking outside and hearing the commotion, we could see these teenagers beating up on another teenager and egging it all on to the point we were woken up one block away!  They were hitting the car of the person trying to escape once he got in it.  NOT a SINGLE neighbor turned on a porch light or did anything to help this person or break up these kids.  From my balcony (I'm on the 3rd fl) I broke up the group using a high powered flash light and shined it in their faces back and forth. Shortly thereafter we heard the cops but the kids were gone by that time.   I am so upset with my neighbors for NOT lifting a finger to help, other than maybe call the cops which anyone can do.  With my simple flashlight I was able to effect a change, but I couldn't sleep until 4am and up at 7am writing this because I am FLOORED by COWARDLY, COWARDLY neighbors who we could NOT TRUST to help their fellow neighbors-disgusting! These kids live in our neighborhood - Gainford, Calabash, etc., all of these surrounding streets.  Some were taking off in their flat bed Chevy trucks and Honda civics but the rest walked home-here, in our neighborhood, probably one of your sons.  Don’t let the manicured houses fool you, society is a failure and I am DISGUSTED!!
