Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran School (SOV) will begin a new transitional kindergarten program beginning in August.
The program is designed to bridge the gap for students born before January 31, 2008 who need additional time to develop kindergarten readiness. The academic curriculum includes math, science, arts, phonics and language arts. This full-day program will also include before- and after-school care and religion class.
The transitional kindergarten class is also designed to help children develop independence and improve their academic, socialization and motor skills. Similar to traditional kindergarten, students will wear uniforms, attend chapel and participate in the hot lunch program.
Shepherd of the Valley is an award-winning school offering children in preschool through sixth grade an academic education that includes social and spiritual development.
Graduates of SOV are accepted into a variety of West Valley middle schools including Chaminade College Preparatory, Oaks Christian, West Valley Christian School, Hale School For Advanced Studies (SAS), Woodland Hills Academy and A.E. Wright.
Shepherd of the Valley is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). To learn more, please call (818) 347-6784 or visit www.sovls.org.
