Blog: Lice — the dreaded 4-letter word

Head Lice Season is coming! Parents be prepared!

Every time this season rolls around, my phone rings off the hook!

"Can you please come to my home and see if we have have lice?"

Panicky parents washing the entire contents of their home! Trips to the drug store to buy over-the-counter products.

Here are my Best Lice Prevention Tips:

- Purchase a spiral-toothed comb for lice and run it through wet detangled hair once a week. If there is activity from lice you will see it. The bugs are small brown wingless insects. The eggs are oval shaped beige to brown in color.

-Wear hair back or up as to prevent a swinging bridge for lice to crawl from head to head.

-Put a lice replellant on your kids hair. Lice hate peppermint!

-Don't share brushes or combs, hats or helmets.
