New Matchbox Twenty Album Coming out of Calabasas

Matchbox Twenty are back and gearing up for the release of their first album in a decade, North, due out on Sept. 4, according to Rolling Stone.

The band, consisting of singer Rob Thomas, rhythm guitarist Paul Doucette, lead guitarist, Kyle Cook and bass guitarist Bryan Yale, wrote new material in 2011 in Nashville before relocating to Calabasas' Emblem Studios last summer to record.

"The title refers to us finding our way," Doucette told Rolling Stone. "We went into this record with a lot of material. Many different songs that could have taken us in many different directions. It sort of overwhelmed us for a bit. But, at a certain point, we figured it out. We figured out where North was."

Matchbox Twenty has released four albums since forming 1995. Their last full album was 2002's More Than You Think You Are.

The first single off North is titled "She's So Mean" and will be released in June.
