Food Revolution Coming to Farmers Market

Kids will get a chance to learn about organic food during a special day devoted to healthy eating.

The Calabasas Farmers Market will belong to kids on May 19 for the first ever Food Revolution Day, part of the ongoing Jamie Oliver campaign to get youngsters to eat healthier.

With the purchase of a $10 ticket, children can gather fresh fruits and veggies from participating vendors. There will also be a kid's juicing station, a basil planting workshop, a salsa making course at and other kid-friendly cooking demos.

The event is co-sponsored by Out of the Box Food, which is run by Calabasas Patch blogger . All funds raised from the event will go toward benefiting the Jamie Olver Foundation.

The event is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Calabasas Farmers Market is located at 23504 Calabasas Road, across the street from the Sagebrush Cantina.
